Words of Wisdom can come from anyone. In this text we discuss topics ranging from "Are Humans good by nature?" to "Is there a God?" to "Do I have the right to my own opinion?" Philosophy is the study of wisdom, and can emerge in our conversations in social media, in school, around the family dinner table, and even in the car. The text uses materials that are 2,500 years old, and materials that were in the news this year. Wise people come in all shapes and types, and from every culture on earth. We have poetry and folktales, sacred writings and letters. Dialogues and interviews, news columns, Ted Talks, You Tube recordings and even comedy are all a part of the content in this text.You will be most successful reading this on line.

Multicultural literature features works written by African American, Asian American, Native American, and Latino authors as they intersect with issues of race, gender, class, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, and nationality. Students will read, discuss, and analyze multicultural literature to expand and deepen their experiences with diverse voices and perspectives. This will increase students' understanding of traditions and values of varied cultures necessary for living and working effectively in a society with great population diversity. Recognize lecture organizational patterns, themes and topics.

This D2L Brightspace Package Shell is built as a complete course using the OpenStax Biology 2e textbook available at https://openstax.org/details/books/biology-2e. All content is open-source and credited. Much of the content was built using D2L features that allow for accessibility and universal design. This shell can be used for live or online teaching formats. You can use this shell as an import resource for a current shell or you can use it 'as is' after adding your own course specific information. To get started, download the zip package, import into D2L using Course Admin tools, and go to Materials > Content > Overview to get started. This document showcases an 8-part modular structure for an Introduction to Global Humanities course created by Humanities Faculty Ruth Wollersheim in 2022 for a sabbatical project for Century College in White Bear Lake, MN. It includes original modular overviews written by Ruth Wollersheim followed by a collection of relevant learning materials for each module. Most learning materials can be accessed by students for free with the typical college library subscriptions and streaming services. The learning materials are interdisciplinary and multi-media. Each module usually includes 2 journal assignments, 2 discussion or group activities, and 1 quiz. The course culminates in an Art Inquiry Essay, which requires that students take a trip to a local museum (assignment description included).

Minneapolis College, the most selected higher education destination of students from all Minneapolis Public High Schools, is located downtown, nestled between the hustle of Hennepin Avenue and the green spaces of Loring Park. As a part of the Minnesota State system of colleges and universities, Minneapolis College most serves those students who are least likely to go to college. With three-quarters of the student body composed of those underrepresented in higher education, the hallways are filled with recent immigrants, those seeking to learn English, members of communities with the highest unemployment and incarceration rates in the state, veterans, those of low socioeconomic status, seekers of diversity, and those who wish to serve them. Collected here are their stories, stories of overcoming, coming up, perseverance, pride, and power in the face of depressed opportunity and systemic oppression.
