This is the final project for an intercultural communication course. The project aligns the transfer pathway course outcomes with several mini-projects that can be done as mini-essays, mini-presentations, or mini-speeches. A common rubric is included that works for all methods of delivery.
The project includes an assignment description and grading rubric for a global advocacy speech. The assignment focuses on using Kiva.org as a starting point to research an issue from Africa to tell the audience about. Africa is a diverse continent with different strengths and needs across its geography. The resource also includes four weeks of online discussion modules, which use videos as the basis of discussion. The weekly discussion topics focus on culture, communication, and public speaking for an introductory communication course. This work was completed as part of the Global Circle Curriculum Development project at South Central College.
