Multicultural literature features works written by African American, Asian American, Native American, and Latino authors as they intersect with issues of race, gender, class, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, and nationality. Students will read, discuss, and analyze multicultural literature to expand and deepen their experiences with diverse voices and perspectives. This will increase students' understanding of traditions and values of varied cultures necessary for living and working effectively in a society with great population diversity.
