Abramson’s textbook is adequate and does satisfy all the requirements of a book of outstanding quality, but College Algebra by Stitz and Zeager contains a wide variety of worked examples and many exercises with solutions, so this second resource can be used as a supplemental textbook.

Title: Virtual Advocacy Speech on African Issues (Assignment and Four Weeks of Learning Materials)

The assignment focuses on using Kiva.org as a starting point to research an issue from Africa to tell the audience about. Africa is a diverse continent with different strengths and needs across its geography. The resource also includes four weeks of online discussion modules, which use videos as the basis of discussion. The weekly discussion topics focus on culture, communication, and public speaking for an introductory communication course. This work was completed as part of the Global Circle Curriculum Development project at South Central College.
